Hardware Stores

The Trilling Hardware Co.

In 1856, when Menasha was a little backwards village among the stumps, Mr. I.Trilling established a hardware store on Main Street . Many years have come and gone since the founder passed to his reward, but the store is still there, and what's more, it is still conducted by a Trilling-Henry E., the elder son of the founder, and a Menashan born and bred. This store is the oldest hardware establishment in the two cities and memories of pioneer days cluster about it that make it dear to the heart of many an old settler. Henry E. Trilling, the manager, is a business man of modern ideas who by his energy, his commercial acumen and his popular personality wins trade right and left. A fine stock of hardware, tinware, stoves, bicycles, garden tools and cutlery is carried, while in the rear of the store is an extensive repair department under the supervision of Frank Trilling, who has been connected with the establishment for the past twenty years or more, and who is one of the most experienced tinsmiths in these parts. Manager H. E. Trilling is as popular socially as he is in business circles, and is connected with a number of the leading civic organizations of the city.
