It is the philosophy of the Menasha Joint School District to provide opportunity for each student to develop individual maximum potential, the guiding characteristic of the Gifted and Talented Program is to provide gifted and talented students with learning activities which afford opportunities for exploring, experiencing, and expressing. This can be achieved in two ways:
acceleration (vertical progression through basic skills)
            enrichment (horizontal extensions of learning
.)

Gifted/Talented students need:

to be provided with information which is more complex

to be encouraged to explore diverse and original solutions to problems to be given opportunities to discover how and why

to analyze, synthesize and evaluate data

to differentiate content and process, and to produce outcomes

to be given opportunities to create

to nurture intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships

to be counseled regarding their unique needs and talents

to learn at a pace commensurate with ability

The ultimate goal is to assist students to achieve personal fulfillment and a positive self-image by stimulating a sense of responsibility to oneself, to the school, to the community and to a changing society.
