CPR/AED/First Aid Requirements

Board Policy 453.1-Rule, approved 8/22/05, specify the following requirements for individual job classifications with regards to CPR/First Aid certifications:
- Paraprofessionals – Required to have CPR (yearly) and First Aid (triannually) – Paraprofessionals must have the training completed before posting meeting held annually in July to be eligible to post. See schedule for training dates offered.
- Tech Ed Teachers – Required to have CPR (yearly) and First Aid (triannually)
- Phy Ed Teachers – Required to have CPR (yearly) and First Aid (triannually)
- Coaching Staff – Required to have CPR (yearly) and First Aid (triannually)
All positions listed above will now be required to have Infant, Child, and Adult certifications in CPR/AED as well as First Aid certification. AED training is now part of all CPR training through the Menasha Health Department.
Staff required by Board Policy, as listed above, will receive payment for successful completion of their certifications. Payments are only paid after successful completion of a MJSD-sponsored class. Attending an outside Red Cross or class through other agencies or sponsors is not reimbursed by the district.
Positions highly recommended but not required to have the certifications include: district administrators, administrative support, custodial, food service, before-school-care, lunch supervisors, and co-curricular activity supervisors.
