2/10/12 8th grade National Junior Honor Society members remember you have to complete 2 service projects. We have opportunities available to help at with PTO birthday parties at Gegan elementary school an opportunity to help with the book fair. Please sign up outside Mrs. Donovan's room(room 237). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2/8/12 Anybody interested in playing baseball this summer at Youth Sports that has not registered yet needs to go and see Mr. Carlson for information and forms. Please do this as soon as possible. Mr. Carlson is in Room 113 for connections. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2/7/12 Soccer Open Gym is cancelled this Saturday, 2/11.

We will be meeting after school on Thursday February 9 in Mrs. Donovan's room. This will count as one service project.
Reminder that there is Wednesday Workout from 3:00 - 4:00 this week - we'll be doing cardio. Students bring a friend, teachers join us too!
Want to get involved in a great indoor sport at Maplewood? Join our bowling team. That's right....bowling. We bowl right down the street at Sabre Lanes. We'll hold regular practices. You get to be part of a great team. You'll compete against other area schools. All ability levels are accepted. Interested ???? Come to Sabre Lanes Thursday February 9th right after school. Mr Metko will be there to help you and answer any questions. Come check it out!
1/30/12 Due to a recent rash of thefts happening in the lunchroom, we will be suspending all a la carte items for the next three weeks beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31. These items would include cookies, chips, juices, waters, etc. The privilege of the a la carte services will be reinstated on Monday, February 20.
Please remind your child/student that they may pre-purchase a 2011-2012 yearbook from Mrs Gullixon anytime (preferably connections). Cost is $15 (exact change or check payable to Maplewood).
Announcing - Jazz Benefit Concert I'm excited to announce that the Maplewood Middle School Music students have voted to raise money during this year's Jazz Benefit Concert for two fantastic charities: the Smile Train (provides cleft surgeries for children who can't afford it) and the ASPCA, which finds good homes for and prevents cruelty towards animals. Since both animals and needy children around the world are two issues that are near and dear to our students' hearts, we're linking the two charities through the theme "Smile--All Life is Precious". The Benefit Concert and Silent Auction will be held at MMS on February 6, 2012 at 6 p.m., so please mark your calendars and plan to join us! In the meantime, we're starting to collect auction and monetary donations, so please keep us in mind as you clean for visiting relatives and if you come across any gifts that you are not sure what to do with!... Donations can be dropped off now through the end of January in the MMS main office or music department. (A donation form is attached.)
